Each day this week the scriptures treat us to another aspect of Jesus’ Resurrection and New Life! The apostles had returned to their old life, to their native village and their occupation of fishing. They had caught nothing during that night – then in the morning Jesus was on the shore telling them to again let down their nets and the nets were filled to overflowing. How often our lives are filled with sameness and lack of success and then God asks us to try again: to love with more enthusiasm, to labor with more generosity, to have a deeper faith. With the renewed life of the resurrection, how often life and spontaneity returns to us and we can see and hear Jesus as He invites us to “Come and have breakfast” with Him. Let us spend time enjoying the presence of the Risen Jesus and finding His presence in our sisters and brothers around us. | |
