Seventh Sunday of Easter Acts 1: 12 – 14

Before His passion, Jesus thanks the Father for those who have been given to Him. Our Savior confirms that these disciples "accepted," "understood," and "believed," just as we may have done in our lives, yet do we realize how much is left to be done? Jesus says that He has "been glorified in them," and we remember that Jesus' road to glory is marked with humiliation, blood, and suffering. The same is true of us: Christ's death has redeemed us to life, yet our lives in Christ on earth will not be without some amount of pain. May we live out of such love for Jesus, His Father, and the Holy Spirit in such a way that the world cannot help but be disturbed by the love overflowing from our being. Should we suffer for our faith, may we suffer because the love given to us which we share is unlike anything of this world, and "glorify God because of the name." | |
