First Saturday of Lent Deuteronomy 26: 16-19 |

Today, Jesus asks us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Do we throw around the word “love” without any meaning at all or is “love” so precious that we reserve it for only our family and closest friends? Can we expand that to include those around us who show no regard for peace or understanding? Can we trust in the Lord enough to show forgiveness to those who have hurt us directly or indirectly? Today, I celebrate 34 years of love with my husband who has taught me to love not only our family and friends, but so many others that have touched our lives. He has shown me that when we trust in God, God showers us with love. |
