“If one of you wants to be great, you must be the servant of the rest”

In Matthew’s gospel we hear a way of thinking that is so different from our culture. Today it seems that ever ounce of commercialism, politicalism, militarism and sexism screams for dominance over others. To be great in the eyes of Jesus we must seek to be truthful, trustworthy and compassionate as we acknowledge the value and dignity of each person. The only power we should seek is the physical power to be of service to all those with whom we come in contact. Lord, let me bring your love and peace to all I meet.
