Fourth Tuesday of Lent Ezekiel 47: 1 – 9,12 |

We have been told in New York recently that we had the least snow in 75 years. A question that comes up immediately - is this another result of Global Warming. The children have been disappointed that they cannot use their sleds and skiers say it isn't the same with machine made snow. Today's reading from Ezekiel tells about the wonderful and superabundant stream flowing from the temple. Water signifies great blessings, just as dryness signifies a curse. In John's Gospel we also hear about water. With a word Jesus does for the sick man what the water had been unable to do. Without referring to the supposed curative value of the water, he completely heals the man of his infirmity.. The question posed by Jesus is a significant one: "Do you want to be well?" Jesus also wants to heal us if only we "want to be well". God is in our desires and wants to heal us during this Lenten Season. |
