…Martha served…Lazarus reclined at table…Mary anointed the feet of Jesus… Imagine the gratitude of these three siblings as Lazarus was raised from the dead. At this feast of thanksgiving, we see them as they were. Mary not only sat at the feet of Jesus but also anointed them with fragrant oil. Jesus accepted this gesture of love saying that this was a preparation for his burial. How shocking to think of this young man, teacher and friend being crucified within the week. Mary showed her appreciation and love to Jesus while he was still alive. How often do we put off saying words of love or doing acts of kindness? During this Holy Week, let us show of love for God by loving those who cross our path each day. |
