IS THERE A TOMORROW?
From “Lights in the Darkness” by
Ave Clark OP *
I learned to fear at an early age,
I also learned to hide fear, but
it lurked just beneath
The surface of my thin façade of “all is O.K.”
I learned to hide deep inside
And slowly I lost the light of day
And submerged I became
In deep, deep darkness
Called despair…it’s not O.K
But cries I heard . . . a spirit
wept, crawled and sobbed
to be delivered
Yet fear, fear weights us
down, even in this New Year . . .
alas The journey to go on . . .
Is that O.K.?
